Players from regional NSW have the opportunity to compete in the following representative carnivals run by Country Cricket NSW.
U/14 Kookaburra Cup
The Kookaburra Cup is contested by all eight regional zones with ACT based players eligible to represent Southern Zone. The tournament is played each January as a four day carnival with teams divided into two pools. The top team in each pool at the end of three rounds then play in the Final.
The winner of the Kookaburra Cup will go on to play the winner of the NSW Districts Cricket Association’s Harold Moore Shield, while four combined country teams are also selected to take part in the U/14 State Challenge.
U/16 Bradman Cup
All eight regional zones compete for the Bradman Cup with ACT players representing Southern Zone. The four day competition is held in January each season with teams divided into two pools. The top team from each pool then plays the Final.
The winner of the Bradman Cup will play the winner of the Sydney Cricket Association’s AW Green Shield, while four combined country teams will also be selected to take part in the U/16 State Challenge.
U/19 Country Championships (Colts)
All eight country zones are involved in the U/19 Country Championships with ACT players eligible to represent Southern Zone. The three day tournament is held in either October or November each year, with the top ranked team at the end of three rounds declared the champions.
From this tournament, two combined country sides are chosen to play in the State Challenge from which the ACT/NSW Country team to play at the U/19 Male National Championships will be chosen.
