U/18 Female National Championships

NSW is represented at the U/18 Female National Championships by the NSW Metro and ACT/NSW Country teams.

NSW Metro are the defending champions in this division, meaning that a team from NSW has held the Betty Butcher Shield for the last 10 seasons.

NSW Metro

The selection process for the NSW Metro team commences in October with players from the Cricket NSW Academy Programs taking part in a range of trial matches.

Players are then selected to take part in the State Challenge, with the final NSW Metro team chosen at the conclusion of this tournament.

Overseen by the Cricket NSW Senior Manager – Pathway, the NSW Metro team will be selected by a panel comprising:

  • The Cricket NSW Female Pathway Manager
  • Team Coaches
  • State Selector

ACT/NSW Country

Eligibility for the ACT/NSW Country team is determined by where a person is playing at the time of selections.

The U/18 Country Championships, held in October each year, represents the first stage of selection for the ACT/NSW Country team.

From this tournament players are selected to participate in the State Challenge with the final ACT/NSW Country squad named at the conclusion of this tournament.

Overseen by the Cricket NSW Senior Manager – Pathway, the ACT/NSW Country team will selected by a panel comprising:

  • Cricket ACT Female Pathway Manager
  • Team Coaches
  • Country Selector (approved by the Country Committee of Management)
  • State Selector
